Scripture Memory

As a church body we are memorizing scripture together. We will have a new verse to learn during each liturgical season of the year, beginning with Epiphany and ending with Advent.

2023 Scripture Memory

Ordinary Time | Fall (September 13 - December 2)

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying,
Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them,
The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
“So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I shall bless them.”

Numbers 6:22-27:

Ordinary Time | Summer (June 4 - September 13)

Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For

“Whoever desires to love life
      and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
      and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
      let him seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
      and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
1 Peter 3:8-12

Season of Easter (April 8 - May 28)

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:3-11

Season of Lent (February 22 - April 8)

Philippians 2:3-8

Season of Epiphany (January 6 - February 21)

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:14-16
