Becoming a Member

If you would like to consider joining Covenant, our Discover Covenant Class* is a great way to learn about our church and what it means to become a member.

The class consists of 3 sessions and concludes during Sunday School on Sunday. We meet on Friday night from 6:00-8:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, and Sunday during Sunday School (9:45-10:45 am). Nursery childcare (ages 5 and under) will be provided for each session. Participants are taken through all of the information about Covenant and are provided ample opportunities to ask questions and discuss beliefs.

Please register any children 7th grade and above for class. Nursery childcare will be available during all sessions.

*You are not obligated to join Covenant once you complete our Discover Covenant Class, but for those wishing to become members, participation in the class is required.

THE MEMBERSHIP PROCESS

If you are interested in becoming a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church,
you will need to:

STEP 1:

Attend a Discover Covenant Class. Our next class is March 8 - 10.

STEP 2:

Be interviewed by an elder. (Once you complete the Discover Covenant Class, David Driskill will help you schedule an interview.)

STEP 3:

Be presented to our congregation and assent to the vows of church membership listed below:

  • Do you acknowledge yourself to be a sinner in the sight of God, justly deserving His displeasure, and without hope save in His sovereign mercy?

  • Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and rest upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel?

  • Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will endeavor to live as becomes the followers of Christ?

  • Do you promise to support the Church in its worship and work to the best of your ability?

  • Do you submit yourselves to the government and discipline of the Church, and promise to study its purity and peace?
