ENFOLD DISABILITY MINISTRY

Our desire for Enfold Disability Ministry is that everyone is drawn into the body of Christ at Covenant to participate fully in our ministries. We are all growing in the Lord together, and our members and visitors with disabilities are vital to the body of Christ. Our fervent prayer is that we can help everyone connect with the Lord and with others in fellowship. If you would like more information or have questions, please contact Kristian Hatley, Director of Enfold Disability Ministry, at khatley@covpres.com.

Join us for lunch on April 24 at 11:30 am (Dining Room) and hear from Dr. Heather Lebensburger, SLP.D, CCC-SLP, from the Behavioral Pediatric Institute of Alabama. She will be sharing practical, hands-on strategies and solutions to build social skills with our kids at home and around the dinner table. This lunch is aimed towards kids ages 5-12 (early elementary-early middle school), but anyone is welcome! Lunch is $10.

Dr. Lebensburger has experience developing and implementing curriculum for toddlers diagnosed with Autism, developing and implementing early intervention programs for children with disabilities, and has provided caregiver education on how to create a language-rich environment. We are so excited to have her join us!

    Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Group

1st Wednesday of every month beginning March 6, 2024

    10:00 am - 12:00 pm | Dining Room

Are you or someone you know caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or any form of dementia or cognitive impairment? If so, you are invited to join our caregivers support group. This is a safe place to be with people who are going through, or have gone through, the same thing you are. Each month, through the guidance of Christy Baynes and Nicole Crawford from LifeCare Solutions, we will learn new skills to help us better communicate with our loved ones, discover new resources to help us along the journey, learn how to be a better care partner for our loved ones and ourselves, and learn how to create systems and teams to help us manage the range of emotions and demands that come along with this disease. Please contact Kristian Hatley with any questions, khatley@covpres.com.

  • This is a wonderful ministry with which to serve. We are looking for people to pray for and encourage those in our congregation who are affected by disability. It’s simple and yet the most important way we can serve each other in the body of Christ. You will be resourced with everything you need to minister in this way. Please email Kristian Hatley at khatley@covpres.com to let her know you’d like to participate.

  • We are now certified by KultureCity, an organization that focuses on sensory accessibility and inclusion. One in six individuals has a sensory processing need, and Kulture City has helped us gain tools to welcome these people well. We have signs hanging up to help all of us at Covenant know where these tools are located, as well as designated areas of our building to help make people comfortable. Please share this information with anyone you know who would benefit from these tools while on our campus. Download the KultureCity app to see our social story:
