STUDY 1 - Believing and Living the Gospel
Six Weeks to Sane Thinking with Julie Sparkman
September 5 - October 10 (E201)
The loudest and most powerful voice you will hear today is the one in your own head. We are often unaware of our true thoughts, yet thoughts are the drivers of all emotions and behavior. In this class, we will learn a very simple method to discover and replace our old “thought tapes” with ones based on the truths of the gospel...which sets us free to true and lasting change in our lives and in our relationships.
Ethical Living with Sandy Willson and Dave Driskill
October 17 & 24; November 7 & 14
Pastors Sandy Willson and Dave Driskill will discuss cultural hot buttons through a gospel lens. In this class, we will look at how we let gospel truths shape and affect how we view such topics as:
- Divorce and Remarriage
- Homosexuality and Gender Identity
- Race Relations
STUDY 2 - Sharing the Gospel
Evangelism and Apologetics with Josh Johnson
September 5 - November 14 (Dining Room; no meeting October 31)
Following Peter’s charge to be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:15) and remembering Jesus’ call in Acts 1:8 to be [his] witnesses, in this study of Evangelism and Apologetics we will learn what it means for our whole life to be a witness to the beauty of Christ and the power of God’s Word. In each discussion, we will look at practical ways to speak and live as Christ in a world that is desperately searching for identity and hope as we encourage one another to grow in our boldness to be unashamed of the gospel of Christ (Romans 1:16).
