Chancel Choir | The Covenant Chancel Choir is a non-audition group of individuals who love the Lord and love to sing. While singing is a mandate for all believers, this group focuses on honing this craft in order to support congregational singing, as well as share musical meditations. Each semester the choir works on music for upcoming Sundays, as well as special music for either Christmas, Easter, or the Summer Hymn Sing. We meet each Wednesday night during the school year from 6:00-7:15 p.m. in the choir room (S103), as well as once a month during the summer (dates are announced each spring). Consistent attendance is encouraged, but if you can only make it a few times per month, that's ok too. Learn more about being in the choir from a few of our members: VIDEO.
Vocals / Solos | Did you know there can be more the one worship leader? If you have experience leading congregational singing from a mic, or just want to see if this might be an area for you to serve, contact Rick for an audition (firstname.lastname@example.org). This role occurs on a rotating basis and includes leading for Sunday morning worship and solo/special event opportunities. Vocalists rehearse with the band on Wednesday nights.
Band | The Covenant band is a rotating group of musicians who accompany Sunday worship services and other special events. We rehearse on Wednesday nights from 7:30-9:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. We encourage anyone who plays an instrument to be a part. We do require an audition, but don't let that scare you! Our goal is not only to discover each player's strengths, but to also learn how we can help those who might need some more time. If the Lord is moving you toward service in music, we want to help you find your place! For more information, e-mail Rick at email@example.com, and read through our "Expectations for Covenant Musicians."
Youth Worship | For the first time, our youth are forming their own worship team! We are in the process of training and building up our repertoire, and anyone between 7th and 12th grade who play an instrument and/or sing are invited to be a part. We will meet on select Sunday evenings in the fall from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the choir room (S103). Dates will be announced in August.
Children's Music | Our Children’s Music program offers a joint praise and worship time for ages K3 through 6th grade, where we learn about Christ through music and sing His praises. We sing during the adult Christmas program and in gathered worship in the Spring. We meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays in the fall and spring, as part of kidConnection. We would love for your children to join us! Please contact Casey O’Dell (Caseys.firstname.lastname@example.org; (205) 913-3367) with any questions or if you would like to volunteer in this area. If you have a 4th-6th grader who plays an instrument and would be interested in helping lead praise and worship on Wednesday evenings, please contact Casey.
Tech Ministry | If you’ve ever wondered, “what do all those buttons do?" then you’re the kind of person we’re looking for to join our Tech Ministry! No previous experience is necessary; we’ll handle all of the relevant training. Email Tyler Cuidon (email@example.com) if you would like to join our team and support your church community in a fun, engaging area of service.
