Faith, our veteran Music Club, will continue to develop an understanding of the significance of music in worship.
This club is for fourth through sixth grade. Entertaining but educational activities will expand the children’s music literacy. Emphasis will be placed on learning music terminology, interpreting texts, and continued development of sight reading skills. These children’s voices are ready for more challenging music, so voice and rhythm skills will be expanded. Harmony or part singing will be introduced and the children will become more familiar with music style. Every effort will be made to promote self-esteem and confidence. The children will memorize at least eight hymns during the club year and will learn a great deal of other music. The importance of music from a Biblical perspective will be emphasized. Faith will sing in worship services every six to eight weeks.
Faith meets in E300 from 5 to 6 pm every Wednesday night beginning August 19.
